Three miscreants on a bike opened fire on a medical operator near Piprauli Eksar under Ubhaon police station in Ballia district. The medical operator had a narrow escape, but while fleeing the bike went out of control and overturned and he was seriously injured. On hearing the sound of gunshot and shouting, people from the vicinity reached the spot. Seeing the crowd coming, the miscreants took advantage of the darkness and fled. People from the vicinity took the injured to the local health center for treatment, where the doctors referred him after providing first-aid. On receiving information, Police Station in-charge Bipin Singh reached the spot with his team, and after investigation, an empty cartridge was recovered from the spot.

Rahul Gond, a resident of Piaprauli Baragaon, runs a medical store near Seer CHC. Like every day, he was going home after closing the medical store at 10 pm on Wednesday night. As he was getting down the canal, three miscreants on a bike came from behind and started abusing him and opened fire. Seeing this, Rahul took the bike down the road, after going into the ditch, the miscreants fired a second round too, but he narrowly escaped.
While fleeing, Rahul’s bike went out of control and overturned, due to which he suffered a back injury. Hearing the bullet sound, people from the vicinity rushed to Rahul’s side. They informed his family and sent Rahul to the district hospital for treatment.
Rahul said that due to darkness he could not identify the miscreants, but he suspects that the chairman, a journalist from a daily newspaper and the medical director are behind the attack. He urged the police to investigate the matter and take strict action against the accused.
